Injury roundup: Chambers leaves with leg injury  Comments

The Chargers lost receiver Chris Chambers to an undisclosed lower left leg injury during Sunday’s 17-10 loss to the Dolphins, but little is available on the injury.

Chambers was injured while making a 5-yard reception on the final play of the third quarter and did not return. The Associated Press reports that X-rays were planned, but coach Norv Turner had no updates following the game. Chambers was not available to the media in the locker room.

He finished with three receptions for 30 yards and a touchdown.

* The Eagles lost RB Brian Westbrook briefly during the first half with what coach Andy Reid later described as a rib contusion. Westbrook, who was questionable for the game with an ankle injury, said he would probably have an MRI exam on Monday. He finished with 12 rushes for 33 yards and a touchdown, along with six receptions for 51 yards.

“I try to fight through everything, every pain that I had I try to fight through, my ankle my rib things like that,” said Westbrook. “Of course when you’re not 100 percent you’re limited in some way but I continue to try to fight through it and try to make the most of it.”

* Bucs LB Barrett Ruud suffered right knee sprain during the fourth quarter vs. the Broncos.

* 49ers S Michael Lewis left Sunday’s game vs. the Patriots with an undisclosed injury. Lewis was favoring his right arm and shoulder while being checked on by trainers.

* Patriots RB LaMont Jordan left Sunday’s game vs. the 49ers with a lower left leg injury during the second quarter and did not return. Jordan, who had five carries for 16 yards, watched the second half in street clothes.
